A pair of Mecalac 1 ton dumpers were stolen from a Hertfordshire site overnight. We were notified and remotely tracked the machines to a wooded area close to the theft site. Our local CanTrack Investigator arrived at the scene shortly after and located the machines using the technology within the CanTrack Protect unit. As we approached the machines, the suspected thieves were spotted with the dumpers so police assistance was requested to make the arrest.
As the thieves fled, our Investigator was able to secure the machines. A quick check revealed that the thieves had searched extensively for traditional tracking devices but the covert CanTrack unit had done its job and drew our Investigations Unit to the location.
Our Investigator found a route out of the woodland for the dumpers where the customer was waiting to trailer their machines back to their site.
