When our Investigators get the call that a customer has had an item stolen a new investigation begins. The story within that investigation, to track and recover that stolen item, is never the same.
This theft took our in-house investigators on a 60 mile trip through Warwickshire. Tracking data was good and the unique technology within the CanTrack Protect unit provided a confirmed location for the stolen Kubota Micro Excavator. Due to the location, our Investigator contacted the local Police Rural Crime Unit. The Police met our Investigator at the site. With the Police in attendance, our specialised Investigator located the stolen excavator. With the key still inserted and with no visible damage, our Investigator was able to call the customer who came and recovered their stolen excavator.
This story didn’t finish there. Near to the excavator were many other items that, on further investigation, also proved to be stolen.
- A Ford Transit Scaffolding lorry,
- A Prodem Breaker,
- A white Transit van as well as a
- Swift Caravan.
A treasure trove of items with a value of approximately £100k that the Police were able to recover. Some of these items had been stolen for over a month. If they had been protected by our CanTrack Protect technology we could have found them a lot sooner and they could have been back earning money on site.
